Thrums is constructed from two large Georgian houses; many of the rooms boast period features. The hotel is just five - ten minutes drive from the city centre and is located near to many local amenities including the Royal Commonwealth Swimming Pool and Leisure Complex, University, as well as Holyrood Park and Palace. Edinburgh is an excellent base from which to travel to other Scottish towns and cities such as the famous golfing centre at St Andrews in Fife or some of the numerous picturesque villages on the East Coast. The hotel has its own secure private car park within its gardens.
