Warkworth House Hotel
16 Bridge Street, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE65 0XB
It was the site of four 18th century Burgage Houses. The magnificent stairway was bought from Brandenburg House in London; the former home of Queen Caroline, along with an Italian marble floor which has since been destroyed. During the Second World War the army commandeered the house as a barracks for officers.
